Restorative Monthly Yoga Practice

1 November @ 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

The perfect end to your weekend and to set you up for the week ahead.

I love a flow but there is magic in the practice of restorative yoga. It combines, postures and breath work with stillness and rest, using props to support your body and shift our nervous system to a place of rest and digest.

The class is curated to offer you a pause from the demands and pace of life. It is more passive in nature, using props to support you (bolsters, blankets, blocks, eye pillows) – to allow the body to open, soften, release tension and tightness, and help create a little space in your mind too. As we move into a parasympathetic nervous system we help the body lower cortisol, improve sleep and nourish the connective tissues.

Asana (postures) can be adjusted, modified and changed for injuries, body types, how you feel on the day. You will be shown how to use props and the benefits they can have for your practice, so you know why and when to use them for you.

Sometimes I will offer hands on adjusts not because you are doing anything wrong but to offer you a new way of being in the pose, to give you new information or something that you might enjoy in the pose.

It is deeply restorative in name and nature – something we all need in today’s society and the lives we lead. The effects of the practice will work their magic after class too.

These practices will take place usually on the first Sunday of the month.
